Show Us What You’ve Got!
Hello, fellow band members, musicians, solo artists, and posers (you know who you are)! My name is Rand and I’ve been a musician for over 45 years. I’ve been everything from a total amateur wannabe to a seasoned pro and everything in between at one time or another. Like many of you, I’ve been in countless bands, played many shows, parties, and for anybody who would come and watch and listen to the
band. We had rehearsal after rehearsal to make sure our music was tight and our moves were right on. We practiced anywhere we could, you know, “The garages,” bedrooms, living rooms, basements, even at the beach. We even spent way too much money for rehearsal studios (but if you didn’t have a PA it was well worth it).
The greatest times of my musical journey has been the countless rehearsals/band practices (rehearsal sounds more professional, eh?) This is when you get to try your musical chops, learn your equipment, play your favorite songs, whether you wrote it or are playing a cover tune over and over until you get it right. It is also the time to to hang out with friends, escape from everyday crap, talk about the day, or what is going on in life! These stories and conversations could make many popular TV and movies plots. Some hilarious, some dramatic, and some really, really overly dramatic! You know… the jealous boyfriends/girlfriends kind of stuff. Oh yeah, and the partying!
This website SHOWYOURBAND.COM is a platform for you to upload your videos of your rehearsals or your friends! Let’s see how
you rehearse your set, show us your equipment, and let’s see and hear how you get that sound and tone we all are constantly searching for.
Do you present charts for the band? Do you huddle around a CD player to learn songs? Is one band member an ass and a control
freak? Or is it just democracy? We want to see it all. The real life, behind the scenes, of a group of musicians getting together to play some great music. This to me is where the real talent lies, being able to co-exist with other humans to
produce something beautiful and meaningful together as a unit. So, bring it on, show us your band, and rock on!
I am sooo excited about this website! Looking forward to seeing watch ya got!
YES!! 2 years later and the site is launched! I’ve had great people working with me on this site. I want to thank my wife Mary for everything to help this dream come true. Thanks to Val Cook human being(radio station owner) extroardinare for hooking me up with a developer whose help and expertise in developing this site was absolutely fantastic. I AM A MUSCICIAN through and through till the end of my life. I’ve done many other things in life, but this is who I am, what I know, where I’ll be, why I’m for as long as whenever. You know of course I wanted to be that rock star and make a million bucks, but as they say…. It’s not the what you get at the end, but the journey is all that matters. That is one the reasons for this site, to show case every band/musician their journey unfolds…..
This is a well thought out site for all musicians from Newbies to Pros. I am a friend and bandmate of the creator of this site and can attest to his commitment in the Music Biz. Now lets getr out there and spread the word!
Howdy everybody! I’m not much of a facebooker yet, but I just wanted to let you know, I recently launched a website; showyourband.com. It’s another platform for bands and musicians, similar to youtube. ( I am not trying to compete with youtube! ) Myself, being a musician for eternity, I have lots of great memories, that have got me to where I am today. The greatest memories I have are, the band rehearsals, comraderie, parties, gigs, etc. I want to see the behind scenes of your band and what you do! You don’t have to be a star, or a wannabe, just an everyday musicians that sometimes play for fun and nothing else, I want see what kind of equipment you use ( you don’t have to have the most expensive guitar, amps etc.) to get your sound, I want to see the crap that goes into your rehearsals, you know the fights of who plays what, and girlfriends/boyfriends getting in the way!
So…” let’s see what you got!” The “unseen side” of being a musician!
Thanks,
Rand
